Lesson 5

Projects

A Project is a workspace that remembers your files and instructions, so every new chat starts informed.

Keep files together

Add reference documents (brand guide, product specs, past reports) to the project knowledge once. Every conversation inside the project can draw on them.

Save instructions

Project instructions apply to every chat in the project. Put your standing role, tone, format and rules there so you stop retyping them.

Reuse context

Start a fresh chat per task but inside the same project. You get a clean conversation with all the background already loaded.

Build knowledge bases

One project per client, product or area of work. Over time it becomes a focused assistant that knows that domain.

Good project instructions look like

"You help the marketing team at Acme. Audience: small-business owners. Voice: plain, warm, no jargon. Always use UK spelling. When unsure about a product detail, say so instead of guessing."

Try this prompt

Create a project called "Weekly Reports". Add last month's reports as files. Instructions: "Match the structure and tone of the attached reports. Flag any number you can't find in the data I give you."
